Engaged by the PA Organization for Watersheds and Rivers (POWR), Grow Conservation led a team of small businesses through two capacity-building projects for community watershed organization in 2025. The clients were the Quittapahilla Watershed Association (Lebanon County) and a collaborative between Manada Conservancy and Swatara Watershed Association (Dauphin County). Many of the tools and resources that we created for volunteer engagement, community outreach, marketing, and development are now posted on the POWR website. Expand the heading "New Watershed Organization Capacity Building Resources/Tools" to find examples of our work that may be transferable to your organization.
I was invited by the York County Planning Commission to author an article on local open space preservation funding and voter referendums for its May 2026 Local Government Advisory Committee newsletter. The team at the Farm and Natural Lands Trust of York County helped with information and editing of the article. Our hope is to encourage York County municipalities to consider such programs in the future to augment the present county-wide open space program. The article is previewed on the newsletter page, and the full article provided at a separate link. The PDF of the article is also available above under Document Resources.
